The 2017 Danville FallFest was another huge success for SBJ in the craft fair arena!! Although it was more than apparent by attire worn by attendees that they were ready for fall, summer still had a grip on that weekend with warm weather and not a cloud in the sky. I can't thank everyone enough that came out to see us, taste our jams and offer their very supportive commentary.
As I've mentioned before, I love taking flavor requests and playing around with new fruit. The show gave us plenty of inspiration from a number of requests that will be forthcoming. Having added the mission fig rosemary jam to the arsenal proved to be a hit and we nearly sold out by the end of the event. Definitely a keeper!!
Our top two requests are still rounding out to be for huckleberry and olallieberry, aside from pepper jams and jellies. I'm sure some of these will pop up provided I can find a source for the fruit. I would imagine that if I were to find any this late into the berry season, it would make for a small exclusive production run that will probably only be featured at a craft fair until I can gauge the response and gear up for next year's berry season to really stock up. Whether we have the chance to meet in person at a craft fair or not, feel free to let me know of any fruit or pairings that you'd be interested in seeing.
