Boysenberries are steeped in California agricultural history dating back to the 1920's when the first crossings between a raspberry, blackberry, loganberry and dewberry are attributed to Rudolph Boysen. It's these newfangled berries that grab the attention of of Walter Knott and later become the draw of his success of Knott's Berry Farms.
Our delicious boysenberry jam is a seeded jam for added texture that is great for just about anything. Whether it's an alternate choice for a PB&J over strawberry, a pork glaze, an ice cream topping or a silver dollar short stack with boysenberry jam instead of slathering them with pancake syrup.
We start with only fresh picked berries that were hand selected and cleaned from one of our favorite Oregon specialty berry growers. Our recipe uses only fresh boysenberries, pure cane sugar, a little citrus pectin for help with gelling and a generous splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a little zing to the flavor in this magical combination.
