Although not at the top of list of customer requests, we had just enough requests for a grape jam to decide to give it a shot. Schletewitz Family Farms in the Fresno Valley is one of the only California growers still harvesting organically grown Concord grapes, so we were eager to catch up with them at the local farmers market for a few flats.
Lucky for us Schletewitz Farms offers an organic Concord grape that is significantly smaller than the commercially grown Concord grapes with the massive seeds. This allowed us to run them through the food mill without sacrificing the flavorful skins. So, if you're into great tasting Concord grape jam that isn't overly sweet, THIS IS THE JAM FOR YOU!
Our delicious jam starts with Concord grapes from the Fresno Valley. To the mix, we add pure cane sugar, a little citrus pectin for added gelling and a generous splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a little zing to the flavor in this magically intoxicating combination.
