Damson Plums are definitely hard to come by in my neck of the woods. But if you've been fortunate to come across this wonderful plum variety in your travels through Europe, you'd agree that they were worth the extra effort to track down!
Our delicious jam starts with Merryweather damson plums from one of our specialty fruit growers, Birdsong Orchards, in Watsonville, CA. The recipe uses only fresh plums, pure cane sugar, a little citrus pectin for added gelling and a generous splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a little zing to the flavor in this magical combination.
