Why should apple butter get all the fun, right? We thought as much, so we decided to try out an old apple butter recipe with bartlett pears... with a twist, of course. We think you'll love the end result!!
Our delicious Ginger Pear Butter is just the ticket when the situation calls for the flavors of Fall in a jar with the perfectly smooth texture of a fruit butter.
We start with only fresh bartlett pears from the Sacramento Delta that were hand selected by our favorite pear growers, Van Loben Sels' Farms. Our recipe uses only bartlett pears, pure cane sugar, some citrus pectin to aid in gelling, a bit of anise seed, ginger, cardamom and cloves for a different take on a fall spice flavor along with a generous splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a little zing to the flavor in this magical combination.
