Aside from our booming retail business, we have had a good deal of success in the foodservice side servicing the local Bay Area coffee shops, wine bars, tasting rooms and the like. When working with one of our customers on the perfect fig jam to pair with a grilled cheese sandwich for their coffee shop menu, we came up with a turkish fig ginger jam that is to die for!!
Although our turkish figs go through a food processor for ease in speadibility, it still retains a good amount of texture. Paired with fresh ginger to give it a little bite, this pairs great with just about any flavorful cheese. The recipe uses only turkish figs, pure cane sugar, fresh ground ginger, a little citrus pectin for added gelling and a generous splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a little zing to the flavor in this magical combination.
